Afghan Hound Trophy Pillows

A few of the pillows that were done back in '87 for the Delaware Valley Afghan Hound Club's specialty. Caroline Collins Garrell and I did 70 pillows, and the gals in the club got together and we had a sewing bee to put them all together. This was a fun project, and a great idea for trophies - but it's definitely one which needs teamwork.

I also enjoy painting furniture. Here are two pieces that I did, creating my own designs. The deacon's bench was done with my dad's paint brushes, and I felt as though both Mom and Dad were holding my hand from above. The other, a pie safe, was handpainted to match my kitchen wallpaper. No stencil. Each flower was marked where it should be placed, painted, and then tiny dots - over 12,500 of 'em - were applied.

And the Psanky, which is the Ukranian Easter Eggs. I will be doing them again this year, haven't done them for at least 7 years.
